God Billboards

Blessings to all this Holy Week.

I haven't seen any "God" billboards along the highway lately. Do you recall the black billboards with white print that were so popular? There would be a short pointed message with "God" printed at the bottom, His "signature." I was not a fan of the billboards. Don't want to start anything here, but I never saw anything on them except law, and I certainly didn't find in Scripture that God ever said any of those things. However, if I did have a "favorite" among those billboard messages, it was one that for a long time could be seen westbound on I-94 around exit 138 near Jackson, Michigan:

"Don't make me come down there!"

That one I liked because the error was so obvious. Our Lord Jesus, indeed, has already come and died for us on a cross. We didn't 'make' Him come down either, but rather His love for us and the Father compelled Him...and now we eagerly await His return to take us to Himself in heaven. "Don't make me come down there!"? Oh, my, most definitely, come Lord Jesus, come quickly. Again, God bless your Holy Week worship.

"forgiveness doesn't come with a debt..."    (a phrase that caught my attention in a Mary Chapin Carpenter song)
