I've learned about this 'what goes up, must come down' stuff several times with my ladder. 

I set down a glass of cold milk and an unspecified amount of warm chocolate chip cookies on the table next to my chair and, after turning my back for just a few seconds, I came back into the living room to find...

I don’t have all the answers, nor can I begin to understand the ways of God who loves us so…but I believe.

There is a solitary hearse outside my office window this morning and a fairly empty parking lot.  As usual, the Kindergarten teacher is concerned about what time the funeral will begin, when it will end, and...will this disrupt Kindergarten pick-up at 11:25 a.m.?

This coming Sunday is Life Sunday, and our 4th grade teacher/Band Director, Tom Farrand, is active in Lutherans For Life.  He provides lots of leadership in our church and school, will lead this Sunday's Bible Class, and led us in a terrific Chapel worship today.  Tom used enlarged baby pictures of our Faculty and Staff to create a guessing game and engage our students in today's lesson about the Sanctity of Human Life and God's great love for us in Jesus.

How different from our trip through Babies R’ Us a couple months ago or the two baby showers I’ve been to this fall. 

It stands out to me most that while I know Jenny likes to earn money and get paid, she does not come home with her paycheck and exclaim, “I love my job!” 

It would be nice to say that perhaps the ladies ventured out that morning in faith, confident that God would provide a way. But that’s not the case – just look at their conversation. “Who will roll the stone away…?” is recorded in Mark, but I can imagine the conversation going on... ‘Why didn’t you wake one of the men to help us?’ 'Oh sure, you try getting Peter up at this hour for anything except fishing!' ‘I brought the spices, why didn’t you think of bringing tools for the stone?’ ‘Am I supposed to remember everything?’
