There are more channels on TV…but at times it seems like there is less to watch. I’ve complained that bathtubs have less room than they used to, but most people just laugh at me, and that hurts my feelings…

LSW 2006 - Lutheran Teachers

I wrote today's entry in March of 2006, leading up to that year's NLSW celebration, sent it out to a number of friends and got some positive responses but never published it. I may have put it out on the Listserve, but I really can't remember. Perhaps it will remind you of some of the special teachers who blessed your years in Lutheran schools. There is a solitary hearse outside my office window this morning and a fairly empty parking lot. As usual, the Kindergarten teacher is concerned about what time the funeral will begin, when it will end, and...will this disrupt Kindergarten pick-up at 11:25 a.m.?

The focus is always forward – toward preparing for what is out in front of the athlete. Things an athlete has overcome in the past must remain in the past - a serious injury, a horrific fall, previous losses, even the loss of her mother for one of the skaters. Eyes must be forward and on the goal, the prize.
